The original Sunflower Girl Quilt! from Angel Scraps Quilting

I have always loved sunflowers and had planned to make myself a sunflower quilt for a long time.  Finally got around to it after my regular couch quilt has become almost worn out.  I still love that quilt seen HERE.  I replaced the binding recently and its still folded on the back of the couch.  I think I have a picture with each of our grandchildren with that quilt.  Its special to me, to say the least.

......But the sunflower quilt!  Its so cozy and I love it.  Here are some pictures I took of it recently.  We took down ...

"BEACH BOUND" - Lori's Beach Quilt Number Two from Angel Scraps Quilting

I finished quilt number 2 for 2024!  This is a second beach themed quilt I have made for my daughter.   The first one was made years ago and is shown on my blog in a post HERE.

For this new quilt, the fabric line is called "Beach Bound".  I added lots of other fabrics to that though.    I love the colors and how it turned out.

I started out with the panel in the center and added borders from there.  There are six borders.  It took me a while to figure out what to do, but I am pleased with ...

Rowan Cade's Baby Quilt from Angel Scraps Quilting

Here is a baby boy's quilt that I have worked on for quite a while, a little here and there.  Then I found out another baby boy was coming in our family, so I finally finished it just in time for the baby shower!

I had a lot of the blue and green strips left over, so another identical quilt is in progress.

Two Simple Baby Quilts from Angel Scraps Quilting

I have not been quilting very much so far this year!  I just haven't been able to get in the mood to work on them.

But, I finally finished two simple baby quilts for two sisters who were having babies.  One was for a boy born in March and the other is for a girl who is due in September.

Both quilts consist of a top that is one piece of fabric.  Both are Winnie the Pooh themed!

Here is the boy quilt made for Max:

The girl's quilt made for Aliza:

This one consists of pre-cuts from ...

Final Project Finishes for 2021! from Angel Scraps Quilting

Here are a couple of final finished quilts for 2021.

First of all is the doll quilt I started over a year ago.  I finally finished it and gave it as a Christmas gift, along with a doll, to a granddaughter.

Project number two is a Christmas quilt made in the same string quilt pattern that I have made several quilts from this past year.  The only difference is the fabric placement and using the same fabrics in the same places in all the blocks.  It makes a completely different looking quilt.

Here is the back.  I used what I ...

A Rustic Christmas Quilt / "I Spy Quilt" from Angel Scraps Quilting

This post is linked to the following linky parties:  From Bolt to Beauty, Alycia Quilts, and Quilting is More Fun Than Housework.

This is my second Christmas quilt finish of the year!  I have been able to continue making quilts using this same pattern, using only what I have on hand.  I have only purchased quilt battings in the year 2021.  This means that I have purchased no new fabric to supplement what I have on hand, nor any backing fabrics.

This quilt is being made for a family whose home has a cabin feel and I was thinking these ...

My Sister's Christmas Quilt from Angel Scraps Quilting

This post is linked to:  Quilting is more fun than houseworkConfessions of a Fabric Addict, From Bolt to Beauty.

I finished a Christmas Quilt made completely from what I already had on hand.  My sister gave me most of her fabric.  She loves fabric and had bought quite a bit over the years.  But, she decided to de-clutter her house and I was the lucky recipient of some beautiful fabrics.

I decided that since she picked out and bought most of this Christmas fabric, she would most likely like a quilt made from it.  Her birthday is near the ...

Autumn Dreams Quilt from Angel Scraps Quilting

This post is linked to: From Bolt to Beauty,   Alycia Quilts, and Confessions of a Quilt Addict.

and Quilting is more fun than housework.

In early January I made a list of quilting goals and making a Fall quilt was on that list.  AND I actually completed it!

Here is "AUTUMN DREAMS":

Also on my list of goals was to just use what I have on hand in my quilt making this year.  I already had each fabric in this quilt.  It is made of lots of scraps, fat quarters, etc.  There are a few fabrics that appear only once ...

The Papa Jack Quilt Number Two from Angel Scraps Quilting

This post is linked to Finished or Not Friday at Alycia Quilts., Confessions of a Fabric Addict, and From Bolt To Beauty.

I made my hubby, AKA The Papa Jack, a new scrappy, masculine quilt!  The reason I am calling it the Papa Jack Quilt Number Two, is because it is the second one I've made him with that name.  You can see the first one made in 2014, HERE

This project was on my goals list for 2021.  Also sticking to my goals, I did not buy anything in the making of this quilt.  The fabrics were all ...

Just in time - My Last Quilt of 2020 from Angel Scraps Quilting

An end of year quilt finish - with the name on the label being "A Young Man's Quilt".

This quilt is for the Teenager's younger brother who is 7 1/2.  Its exactly like the Teenager's quilt except the colors are greens and blues.

Here is the Teenager's quilt - with the name on the label being "A Gentleman's Quilt".

Side by side:

I finished the labels on both quilts on Christmas Eve and went outside to get a picture of the younger brother's quilt early in the morning.  It was windy as you can see ...

THE FINISHED TEENAGER'S QUILT AND SOME FALL QUILT PICTURES! from Angel Scraps Quilting

I finished this quilt a few weeks ago, but its hard to get outdoor pictures of quilts this time of year.  I have to wait until the weekend and you never know what the weather is going to be like.  Yesterday was the perfect day to go outside!  There was hardly any wind and warm temperatures.

So I spent some time doing something I enjoy .....taking pictures of quilts.

First of all here is the finished Teenager's Quilt:

My final thoughts on this quilt:  I really did not like it when I first started making the blocks.  After the ...

Summer Sampler 2020 quilt: Complete! from Freshly Pieced

IMG_0266My Summer Sampler 2020 quilt is complete, and I couldn’t be more pleased! (Click here to get the pattern.)

IMG_0283I just loved working with this color palette – I have a feeling you’ll be seeing more variations on this palette from me in the future. Creating this palette—and the fabric pull that brought it to life—was a labor of love, with tons of tweaking and refining as I went. Often, by the time I finish a long-term project like this, I’m tired of the colors and I’m ready to move on to a new palette ...

The Rainbow Double Irish Chain Quilt from Angel Scraps Quilting

I'm definitely a slow quilter! I'm not sure when I started this quilt, but its been at least 2 1/2 to 3 years.

Here's the finished Rainbow Double Irish Chain Quilt and my first finish for 2020.  Wow, its almost July!

So what's next?

I've been doing some repairs on a couple of really old quilts for a relative and I'll be showing more about them in a future post.

But if you know me, you know I love scrappy quilts, or quilts made from clothes.  This is one of the quilts I ...

The Unicorn Quilt - The Last Quilt For 2019 from Angel Scraps Quilting

I worked right up until Christmas and finished this quilt which is a Christmas gift for a 3 1/2 year old:

Here are pillow cases to match this quilt and the 2 previous quilts.  All 3 are going to siblings.

Here are the 2 previous quilts.

We will celebrate Christmas with these three children tomorrow, the day after Christmas.

I am so glad to have these quilts done and am ready to move on to something else...... or maybe just take a break from quilting for a while!

Merry Christmas!

This "Many Trips Around The World" quilt is for one of my Grandsons.  The pattern is from Bonnie Hunter's Quiltville website.

I love the Fall background in these pictures.

I am linking this post to Monday Making at the "Love Laugh Quilt" blog; to TGIF Friday at Alycia Quilts.

A Quilt Finish - Kindergarten Art Quilt from Angel Scraps Quilting

I am happy to say I am finished with this quilt, except for a label!  Its different than any quilt I've ever made.  I would describe it as bright, bold, and striking.  It looks like basket weaves.

Here's the original art work.  The quilt looks a lot like it! I should have turned the quilt the other way when taking the picture so it would match, but then it would have dragged on the ground.

This picture shows the backing fabric.  It was the only fabric I could find that would work and it turned out to be ...

Last finish of the year! from Texas Quilting

Honestly, I didn’t think I could get 4 quilts finished between mid October and before Christmas. Okay, so one was well on its way and by the first week of December it was with its new owner. But that still left a large lap sized quilt and 2 large wall hangings – 3 feet by 4 feet! Finally I just told my husband I was setting everything else aside and power through because it was stressing me out to have that hanging over my head.

I had the tops finished – on point diamonds – but I had the quilting to do ...

Pinwheel Baby Quilt from From Pixels to Patchwork

Pinwheel Baby Quilt | Chantilly + Kona Snow | 44"x52"

I had actually made another quilt top for this particular baby, but it turned out a little too big. Plus, I ended up wanting to keep it for myself! I had limited time to finish a new quilt, so I raced to my local quilt shop in hopes that I would find a cute precut that I could make a quick quilt with. Two charm packs of Chantilly for $6.99 and a coordinating backing fabric also in store? That'll work!

The pattern is Pinwheel Baby Quilt by Jodi Nelson and ...
